COMING IN 2025
TEACHING TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING 7 (2025)
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 7th international conference on TEACHING TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING (TTI 7), organised by the Department of Translation Studies and Language Pedagogy at the University of Lodz. The conference will take place on 23-24 May 2025.
The conference draws on the success of five previous TTI conferences, held in April 2008 and 2009, October 2011, November 2014, September 2017 and September 2019 where it was unanimously decided that meetings devoted to theoretical and practical aspects of translator training, translation didactics and translation curricula are a necessity.
The conference will be held at the Faculty of Philology, 171/173 Pomorska Street, Lodz, Poland.
The topics of the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:

DEADLINES
- the deadline for submission of abstracts for the conference is 15 February 2025.
- notification of acceptance will be emailed to participants by 28 February 2025.
- the deadline for registration is 12 March.
- the deadline for payment is 20 March.
CONFERENCE FEE
The cost of conference registration is 200 EUR, or 240 EUR if including the evening conference dinner.
Conference participation is subsidised for participants from Poland. The conference fee for Polish participants (working in Poland only) is 450 PLN, or 600 PLN if including the evening dinner.
The evening dinner will take place in Manufaktura, the most important site on tourist, cultural and commercial maps of Łódź.
In case of co-authored presentations with both authors present, each person is required to pay the conference fee.
The conference fee includes a welcome conference pack, lunches, coffee breaks, book of abstracts, participation in all sessions, certificate of attendance, review and publication procedures.

Abstract submission
Participants intending to give a paper should send a 200-300 word DOCX abstract (excluding references and bio) to Michał Kornacki (michal.kornacki@uni.lodz.pl).
The abstract submission should contain:

the title of the paper

the name(s) and academic title(s) of the author(s)

the full name(s) and address(es) of the affiliation(s)/institute(s) of the author(s)

the theme(s) (see the list of themes) that the paper covers in the top right hand corner of the document submitted
-
a list of references (max. 5). Please use Harvard citation style.

a short bio of the participant (50-100 words)

Organisers aim to publish selected papers from the conference proceedings as a special issue in an indexed journal and an edited volume.
